Mountain Green

Super exciting news this week......I am spilling the beans! (Sorry Sean.) We put money down on a lot in Mountain Green! Our lot will only be a few houses down from Mindy and Steve. Nothing is set in stone yet, and there are still a lot of things to work out, (getting land and construction loans, etc.) But, if all goes well, we will be moving ahead with the build process and selling our house here in Texas in the next 3 months. I have attached a few pictures of our view from our neighborhood, along with a diagram of where our lot is located. We love Mountain Green. For those of you who have never been there, it is so peaceful and the pictures truly do not do it justice. Not to mention, we are thrilled to be moving to such a diverse recreational area. Snow skiing? 10 minutes away. Water-skiing? 10 minutes away. Biking and hiking? Just walk outside. Camping? Super close-by! Sean and I have adopted a more healthy lifestyle for our family to live by, and living in Mountain Green will greatly increase our chances of getting healthy and staying that way for life. (Topic for another blog entry....coming very soon.) Anyway, we are excited for this welcome (and needed) change in our lives. Moving across the country (both our family and a business) will be challenging, selling our house here in Texas will be challenging, building a home from scratch will be WAY challenging, but I think we are more than up to the challenge. Anything that is worthwhile in this life requires a little risk and a lot of work. I will be posting pictures of our floor plan we designed soon too! Wish us success!

Our lot (the middle blue one with a black star) is roughly 1/3 of an acre, right in front of a park, and has some absolutely breathtaking views from the front.
See how close we are to the Caldwells?

Weber canyon...on the other side is Layton and Hill AFB, where Sean and I met.

This angle is exactly how it'll look out our front windows.
The hill to the left is where the Golf course is going to be.

Looking at Snow Basin ski resort to the right of our lot.

This photo is looking at where all the houses will eventually be built.

Hello.....Is anybody out there?

I am just curious...how many people actually see my blog? I sure enjoy making my blog pages, but I enjoy reading comments, too.
So, maybe I am just lonely today, maybe I am fishing for comments, maybe I'd like to feel like somebody actually cares enough to say
"Hey there, you're a fantastic __________. " Maybe....maybe not.

(So really what it all boils down to is this. If you like my blog,
LEAVE A COMMENT!)

Thanks. :)

Santa was goooood to me this year!

So Sean and I vowed not to get each other Christmas gifts this year. Do you think he kept his side of the bargain? Nope. I should know better by now. He knows how much I am enjoying my camera and new adobe software for photo editing, so this is what he got me for Christmas. My very own laptop! And of course, he personalized it as well. How many moms actually have their kids on their computer?
I loved that. What a cool idea.

It's hard to tell scale from this picture, but this screen is enormous! I am amazed at how easy it is to see things you don't normally catch on a regular computer. It has some nice features for watching movies and listening to music, too. The whole media package. And, I can play SOLITAIRE, too! Somewhere Sean is reading this and saying "Noooooooooooo!"
Curse you, Solitaire!

Thank you, Sean. I love you.

Surprise Christmas Trip

Just thought I would post a few fun pictures from our surprise Christmas trip to Utah. We had such a great time! We miss you all so much! I wish I would have taken more photos...
but that's the way it goes when your having fun.
Thank you all for making our trip so wonderful,
even when we sprang it on you at the last minute.

Dave and Misty's girls, Maddie (10) and Kennedy (6).
Sweet, adorable girls. (And of course my boys being silly!)

I loved these two pics of Brennan and Emily.
I have a feeling they will be the best of friends!

Precious! Babies are like cryptonite!

What are these kids watching? They all look so serious!
At least they don't mind sitting so close together.

What is it about hotels that kids love?
Maybe the new environment, or possibly
being allowed to jump on beds
and splash to their hearts content...who knows?
